Behind the Scenes Trivia
I'll probably regret this at some point in the future, but that point is not now, so without further ado, welcome to the Making of Halloween Otome Trivia thread.
You have questions about certain moments in the game or what we were thinking at points? This is the thread for you!
A bit of trivia to get us started:

You have questions about certain moments in the game or what we were thinking at points? This is the thread for you!
A bit of trivia to get us started:
- After much debate, the name Emma Cee was chosen because Em Cee sounds like MC and she is the Main Character.
- That's also the reason Mira ended up with the initials MC. Before Halloween Otome was done we had already decided on doing VO.
- The out-of-game reason that Mr Wolf's ears move is because the mask initially did not have moving eyebrows. By the time he was given moving eyebrows we were attached to the thought of the ears moving.
- Mr Wolf's name is meant as a homage to Tyler Thompson, the singer of the opening and ending songs as well as the composer of a lot of the music used in the game.
- Mr Wolf has the most endings simply because of when his confession occurred.
- Count's initial first CG didn't have his mask. We didn't notice until shortly before we were ready to release a demo.

Psst, by the way - check out the trivia thread and ask some questions. It's lonely in there by myself.
Hokay. How did you decide on the characters' costumes?

Re: Behind the Scenes Trivia
Well, a Vampire and a Werewolf were the obvious choices, what was less obvious was who would wear them. The initial suggestion was that Landon would be the Vampire. Tyler got the werewolf outfit because it covers the most and actually made sense with the way he blushes.
Erik got the Phantom outfit because the host of a masquerade ball being dressed as the Phantom of the Opera seemed typical. It's also a hint that the way he acts as host is how people expect him to act, not necessarily how he wants to act. (A male fairy outfit was also jokingly suggested).
Landon was then made into the mummy when it was suggested that the mummy outfit should be sexy and revealing. Also, Landon's initial concept was of a quieter, cold character and so it would have let me make a "He speaks!" joke. If it had been a full coverage mummy costume it probably would have gone to Tyler instead.
Emma's outfit was actually the hardest. We went through a bunch of suggestions(litte bo peep, alice in wonderland, cinderella, wicked witch, ghost, angel, fairy, demon, catgirl ... We wanted something mainstream because the guys' outfits were pretty mainstream. KIPPY was also suggested>_>. The Kippy onesie is technically an inside reference to that) before finally settling on an elven archer... And then Bic forgot the elf ears XD. The in-universe reason Emma doesn't wear the ears is because they looked fake/cheap/plastic and she'd need to reapply them everyday so in the end she decided it really wasn't worth the hassle.

Re: Behind the Scenes Trivia
I'm feeling like Mr. Bandages
- Spoiler:
- had The Count recognized on/by Day 9. When accompanied by a worried look, "Hey, Count, I think you just screwed up," seems more invested than I'd otherwise expect.

Re: Behind the Scenes Trivia
I think we wanted to leave it up to interpretation.
- Spoiler:
- He definitely realised it sooner on The Count's route than his own though. Still, on all routes it was before the festival.
It is possible that he knew by that point and was just going along with things because revealing that the host was in their team would not have cast doubt on their achievements thus far. It would also have resulted in more unhappy players and that's the last thing Erik needs considering he's already decided that he's had enough of putting up with people he just can't seem to please.
It's also possible that he did not know and might have been worried that division in the group would cause lost points. And he was starting to care about his team-mates but it's not like he was going to admit that. So what if they seem to bring out his protective instincts? it's just team spirit .
Another possibility is that he has had his suspicions but wasn't entirely sure. If it really was Erik, then all revealing him would do is hurt his friend. And if it wasn't Erik, then he'd look like a fool. Then that scene happens and he sees what could possibly be his best friend in a situation more suited to Landon's own lack of grace.
Re: Behind the Scenes Trivia
On the "friendship" end, I feel like I'm missing something: Mr. Wolf, The Count, and Mr. Bandages all seem to think it significant that there is an Erik/Phantom doll. Why is that?

Re: Behind the Scenes Trivia
It's more of a "Why would he even have this doll created for the creepy day game?" thing. After all, it's not like The Phantom was taken anywhere where his doll could be found by a player.
It's especially odd because the doll being available to be won in the festival means anyone could get it - including people who'd do unsavoury things with it.
Landon knows Erik would be uncomfortable with that thought so he's surprised to see it until he realises that Erik didn't know about it. He still wonders how/why Joshua allowed it's creation and subsequent position as a festival prize though. Erik wonders the same.

We don't actually have concrete figures for height but Emma should be roughly around 150cm.
The dolls are maybe 20cm in height, give or take, but are also the squishy plush type so you can squeeze them smaller.
